Strength Training Benefit #2 – You Will Burn More Calories

Welcome to #2 in a series of microblogs about the benefits of strength training.


I’m so passionate about how more strength training can improve the quality of our lives that I’m putting together a new Muscle Define Program that will begin in mid-March and run for 10 weeks.


Maybe you are already “hell yeah” to participating without further encouragement, but if you need a little nudging, I think this series of micro blogs will do the trick.


So here’s the second one!


Strength Training Benefit #2 – You will burn more calories  


Muscle is more metabolically active than fat. So, having more muscle means you burn more daily calories, even at rest.

 

Also, lifting weights increases your metabolic rate for hours and even days after you finish. Burn calories, burn!
